Bitium Plugin Does Not Load

If the Bitium plugin panel opens but shows up as blank or empty, or if it does not display your app subscriptions, please try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Remove and Reinstall the Plugin

  1. To remove the plugin, right-click on the plugin icon, and select “Remove from Chrome.”

  2. In the dialog box that pops up, select “Remove.” The plugin icon will disappear, and the plugin has been removed.

  3. To reinstall the plugin, visit the Bitium Browser Extension page. Select the “Add to Chrome” button, then select “Add” on the subsequent dialog box.

  4. The plugin will download and install to your browser and you will see a confirmation.

  5. If you are signed in to Bitium, logout and then sign in again.

  6. Click the Bitium plugin icon to see if it is functioning properly.

Chrome “Corrupt Browser Profile” Issue

NOTE: This issue only applies if you are using the Google Chrome browser; other browsers are not known to have this issue.

If removing and reinstalling the plugin, as detailed above, does not resolve the issue, and you are using the Google Chrome browser, the following steps may resolve the issue:

  1. Open the Chrome Extensions management panel.

  2. Click the Chrome menu icon on the browser toolbar.

  3. Click Settings

  4. Select Extensions

  5. In the Extensions management screen, select the “Developer mode” checkbox, and then click the “_generated_background_page.html” link that appears under the Bitium Browser Extension listing.

  6. In the Developer Tools panel than opens after clicking the above link, select the “Console” option.

  7. If multiple “Error during storage.get…” listings appear, as in the above screenshot, this indicates that you have a corrupt browser user profile. Follow Google’s steps to create a new Chrome browser user profile here - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142059?hl=en.

  8. After you have created a new browser user profile, try loading the Bitium plugin to see if it is functioning properly.
