Configuring SAML for VictorOps

REQUIRED ACCOUNT/PERMISSION LEVEL

Bitium: All account levels; must be an Admin to set up

VictorOps: Paid Account; must be an Admin to set up

In Bitium:

  1. Go to “Manage Apps.”

  2. Select “VictorOps” from the list of installed apps.

  3. Click the “Single Sign-On” tab.

  4. Click the dropdown menu and select “SAML authentication.”

  5. Download Metadata XML in Bitium. Please send this over to support@victorops.com for a VictorOps support specialist to complete the setup.

  6. Enter the name of your VictorOps organization into the Organization Key field in Bitium.

  7. Click “Save Changes” in Bitium.

  8. When they VictorOps responds with confirmation of setup, SAML will be all set in Bitium!

Testing:

SP Initiated Login:

  1. Assign yourself or an appropriate user to the VictorOps app in Bitium.

  2. In a fresh window or browser (not logged into VictorOps or Bitium), navigate to: https://portal.victorops.com/auth/sso

  3. Enter the name of your VictorOps organization into the Organization Key field.

  4. Click the “SSO Login” Button.

  5. You should be redirected to a Bitium login page. Sign into this.

  6. After signing in, you should be authenticated into your VictorOps organization.

IDP Initiated Login:

  1. Log out of VictorOps.
  2. From the Bitium Dashboard, click on the VictorOps app.
  3. You should be authenticated into the app.
  4. Note: If it’s your first time logging into VictorOps with SAML, you will be asked to enter your normal username/password credentials so that the SAML login can be associated with your account. After the initial connection, these will no longer be required.

Note: JIT provisioning for this app is not supported at this time. You will be required to have a VictorOps account before signing in via SAML authentication.

SAML Enabled will be illuminated in green once completed.
