Configuring SAML for Chartio

REQUIRED ACCOUNT/PERMISSION LEVEL

Bitium: All account levels; must be an Admin to set up

Chartio: Paid Account; must be an Admin to set up

In Bitium:

  1. Go to “Manage Apps.”

  2. Select “Chartio” from the list of installed apps.

  3. Select the “Single Sign-On” tab.

  4. From the dropdown, select “SAML Authentication.”

  5. Copy the Entity ID, Login URL, and X.509 Certificate from Bitium.

Leave your Bitium window open and continue in a new tab.

In Chartio:

  1. Navigate to “Settings” > “Organization.”

  2. Under “Authentication” > “Login Methods,” click the SAML checkbox.

  3. Paste the Entity ID copied from Bitium in Step 5 into the SAML entity ID field in Chartio.

  4. Paste the Login URL copied from Bitium in Step 5 into the SAML SSO URL field in Chartio.

  5. Paste the X.509 Certificate copied from Bitium in Step 5 into the X.509 certificate field in Chartio. Delete the “—–BEGIN CERTIFICATE—–” and “—–END CERTIFICATE—–” portion of the certificate.

  6. Click “Update” in Chartio and save changes in Bitium.

    Configure Service Provider

Testing:

SP Initiated Login:

  1. Assign yourself or an appropriate user to the Chartio app in Bitium.
  2. In a fresh window or browser not logged into Chartio or Bitium, navigate to https://chartio.com/{yourdomain}/login
  3. Click the Log in with SAML Button.
  4. You should be redirected to a Bitium login page. Sign into this.
  5. After signing in, you should be authenticated into your Chartio organization.

IDP Initiated Login:

  1. Log out of Chartio.
  2. From the Bitium Dashboard, click on the Chartio app.
  3. You should be authenticated into the app.

Note: JIT provisioning is supported for this app.

SAML Enabled will be illuminated in green once completed.
