If an action is taken in Bitium that requires an additional step or confirmation, a Task is created for the admin. These are the different types of Tasks you may come across in Bitium:
ADD USER(S) TO AN APP (OUTSIDE OF BITIUM)
ACTIONS: Either (i)’Create New Account’ was selected as the subscription option when provisioning an app to a user, or (ii) an app was automatically given to a user through Groups.
TASK CREATED: Create an account for the user in the app (outside of Bitium, i.e. at the third party app’s website) and verify the new account credentials on the Task’s page when completed.
Once completed, Bitium will verify that an account exists in the external application with the specified credentials. Once confirmed the user will have the application on their dashboard.
If you change your mind and do not wish to create the account for the user, or wish to use different credentials, simply click the “X” on the right side of the Task to cancel. The app will not be added to the user’s dashboard.
REMOVE A USER FROM AN APP (OUTSIDE OF BITIUM)
ACTION: Admin removed a user’s subscription to an application via the admin menus or by removal from a Group.
TASK CREATED: Go to the app’s website to deactivate the user’s account and mark the Task as completed in Bitium when you are done.
This task is a reminder to remove a User account from the external application, once completed the Task will be moved to your Completed Tasks list.
CONFIRM USER’S APP SETUP AND ACCOUNTS WHEN ADDING USER TO A GROUP
ACTION: Add a user to a group with application(s), or add an application to a group with user(s)
TASK CREATED: Create new accounts in each app for the user(s) and then verify in Bitium. Once completed, the respective users will be able to access the assigned applications on their Bitium dashboards.
ACTION: Error occurs while using Bitium to auto-provision users into an application.
TASK CREATED: Re-try auto-provisioning attempt. Most often, this issue occurs when there is an issue with the underlying external application. Once the issue is corrected, you can reattempt the auto-provisioning directly from this Task.
REQUEST BY USER TO ACCESS SAML-ENABLED APP
ACTION: User tries to add an application that has SAML-Enabled.
TASK CREATED: Give (or deny) the requesting user access to the SAML-enabled application.
Once completed, the admin will have verified or created an account for the requesting user in a SAML-enabled application. The user will have access to the application without having a password to the app.
