Changing an App’s Access Type

There may be an instance where you want to change or modify an installed application’s Access Type. In other words, you may need to change an individual app (where each user has their own username and password) to a shared app (where multiple users log in with the same username and password), or vice versa.

To Change an App from Individual to Shared:

  1. Click “Manage [Org]” to access the Admin menu, then select “Manage Apps.”
  2. On the Manage Apps screen, find the app that you wish to re-configure and click on the app’s name.
  3. On the app’s page, click on the “Settings” tab.
  4. Click the “edit” button on the far right side of the “Access Type” line.
  5. Click the button next to “Shared Account.”
  6. Enter a set of active credentials you wish to use for the shared version of the app.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Update Installation” button.
Once an app is transitioned from an individual app to a shared app, all users who were assigned the app will be able to log into the app with the new username and password. If you want any of the users to be able to view the shared password, you must modify the app settings for those users.

To Change an App from Shared to Individual:

  5. Click the button next to “Individual Account.”
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Update Installation” button.
In order to access the newly-created individual app, users will need to enter their own set of credentials before logging in.
